The 1st LACLSD edition was held in Guadalajara, Mexico, November 7 - 12, 2010, chaired by Luis Figuera. At that time Guadalajara was preparing to host the Pan-American Olympic Games.

The 2nd LACLSD edition was held in Mendoza, Argentina in 2011, from October 31 to November 4, 2011, chaired by Hernan Amartino. The location close to the Andes mountains in a wine country provided a very nice atmosphere.

he 3rd LACLSD edition was held in Lima, Peru in 2012, October 28 to November 2, chaired by Cecilia Bonilla, who had successfully organized the Latin American Congress of Inborn Errors of Metabolism and Screening the year before.

The 4th LACLSD edition was held in Gramado, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, in 2014, from the 2nd to 7th of November, chaired by Roberto Giugliani, who had achieved a high level of academic participation at this event.Along these 4 editions the Scientific Committee was maintained with most of the faculty members and the overall format of the scientific program.

The V LACLSD edition was held in Cartagena, Colombia, October 30 – November 4, 2016, chaired by Roberto Giugliani. Along these 5 editions the Scientific Committee was maintained with most of the faculty members and the overall format of the scientific program.

The VI LACLSD edition was held in Viña Del Mar, Chile, October 21 – October 26, 2018, chaired by Roberto Giugliani. Along these 5 editions the Scientific Committee was maintained with most of the faculty members and the overall format of the scientific program.

The VII LACLSD edition was held in Panama City, Panama, October 16 – October 21, 2022, chaired by Roberto Giugliani.
